Global Reef, headquartered in Koh Tao, Thailand, provides students, scientists and ocean enthusiasts with a platform for engagement in marine conservation - wherever they are in the world.
HOW WE DO IT
Marine Research & Marine Conservation
Internships |Koh Tao
Alongside its ongoing research, Global Reef offers marine conservation internships in Koh Tao, Thailand. These diving internships provide individuals with an opportunity to participate in, and play a key role in active research and marine conservation projects. These internships provide both an education and experience in the field working in the underwater world, where individuals will directly contribute to protecting the coral reefs and other valuable marine ecosystems.
Global Reef has developed a unique educational program that teaches people across the world about coral reefs, their inherent value, threats to these environments, and ways in which they can be protected through marine conservation initiatives. Global Reef works with a number of schools and organisations, both nationally and internationally, helping to educate a worldwide audience.
Global Reef aims to bring coral reefs and marine ecosystems to the desks of scientists, researchers, and students, combining in-situ research methods, with new and innovative technologies. Global Reef combines 360 Virtual Reality experiences, underwater 3D models, orthomosaics, and other advanced imagery with empiracle data sets gathered in-situ. This enables entire coral reefs and marine ecosystems to become accessible to individuals all around the world.... anywhere and everywhere.
